Coronavirus Long Term Effect: Hair Loss

Coronavirus is the most talked about topic of 2020. This virus, which started to spread from China, has affected the whole world. We are encountering new side effects or symptoms of Covid-19 every day, and now a new long-term effect has emerged from this virus: Hair loss.

Many people have posted about their hair loss after they survived from coronavirus, but still lingering effects of the disease. Alyssa Milano, who is an American actress, producer, author, and political activist, is one of the people who are suffering from hair loss due to Covid-19. She posted a video on Twitter and said that “This is my hair loss from COVID-19. Wear a damn mask”.

Hair loss is not in the list of Covid-19 symptoms listed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). However, many doctors and experts said that there’s compelling evidence that hair loss can be a long-term effect from coronavirus.

When you look at the reasons for hair loss, you can see that fever and stress may lead to hair loss. Due to Covid-19 develops a fever in your body, and it makes you feel stressed, it is normal to see hair loss after Covid-19. But, don’t worry it will be temporary, and you won’t see any hair loss caused by a coronavirus after two to ten months.
